M. Golf. Stewart Cink Joins Kuchar on U.S. Ryder Cup Team
Former Georgia Tech All-America golfer Stewart Cink earned a spot on the United States team for the Ryder Cup Monday, being named as one of four captain's picks by Corey Pavin. He joins Tech All-American Matt Kuchar on the team which will compete in the 2010 Ryder Cup Matches, Oct. 1-3, at Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales.

Football. Georgia Tech-Kansas Game Notes
Georgia Tech, coming off a season-opening 41-10 win over South Carolina State, travels to Kansas Saturday for its first game against a Big 12 Conference opponent since 1993.The Yellow Jackets, ranked 16th in the Associated Press poll and 17th in the USA Today Coaches poll, rushed for 372 yards and six touchdowns last Saturday to cruise to a victory over the visiting Bulldogs.

Senior Mary Ashley Tippins had her third straight double-double with 26 assists and 12 digs as the Georgia Tech Volleyball team (3-3) lost to Kansas State (4-3), 3-0 (23-25, 18-25, 23-25) Saturday night in the final match of the Varney's Kansas State Invitational.

M. Cross Country. Men Third, Women Fourth At UGA Invite
At their first meet of the season the Georgia Tech men's and women's cross country teams finished in third and fourth place in their respective races. The men were paced by Patrick Barron who had the highest finish by any Jacket runner, taking seventh with a time of 24:54.37.

Quarterback Joshua Nesbitt ran for 130 yards and three touchdowns, Roddy Jones added two scoring runs and No. 16 Georgia Tech beat South Carolina State 41-10 on Saturday.

W. Volleyball. Mead's Career-High 23 Kills Not Enough As Volleyall Falls To Loyola Marymount, 3-2
Sophomore Monique Mead had a career-high 23 kills and senior Mary Ashley Tippins had her second double-double of the day with 44 assists and 11 digs, but the Georgia Tech Volleyball team (3-2) lost to Loyola Marymount (3-2), 3-2 (25-22, 25-19, 26-28, 23-25, 9-15), Friday night at the Varney's Kansas State Invitational. The Yellow Jackets won the first two sets, but saw LMU come charging back with three straight to win the match and snap Tech's three-match winning streak.

M. Cross Country. Jacket Cross Country Heads Out To UGA Invite
For the first meet of their season, the Georgia Tech cross country team will head 70 miles east of Atlanta to Athens where they will compete in the UGA Invite in the first of two-straight meets in their rivals' town.
